Oh, hey. Thanks for stopping by.
This is that awkward part where I give you an elevator pitch on myself (I'm tap-dancing while you read this!). But what's a little awkwardness if it helps us connect over the stuff of life—namely storytelling, the world of beverages, and where those drinks intersect with everything from art to music. So, allow me a moment to tell you a bit about me, and why I very well may be the person you want covering drinks for your publication, or consulting you on brand messaging, or giving you bar recs for your next trip.
I've been a journalist for over 10 years. I began by covering fashion, design, culture, entertainment, and lifestyle for outlets like Racked, i-D, domino, and Food52, before shifting into craft beer, spirits, culture, music, and travel for Bon Appetit, The Washington Post, Food & Wine, Men's Journal, Wine Enthusiast, VinePair, Thrillist, Punch, Inside Hook, Craft Beer & Brewing, CraftBeer.com, and more. I wrote the metal magazine Decibel's beer column and built a following with my craft beer culture Substack Hugging the Bar. The "beer Tarot readings" I created in that newsletter led to my authoring the Beer Tarot Zine for Bean to Barstool, which you can buy here. I am also a Cicerone-certified beer server.

My copywriting career, going strong in its 15th year, has given me substantial experience in web copy, product copy, social media copy, marketing emails, blog and newsletter content, press releases, and more for retailers and brands including Net-a-Porter, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Fivestory New York, The Line, mytheresa, Joe Fresh, Ann Taylor, Michael Kors, Tanya Taylor, and Yu-Be Skin Care. I have both helped new companies develop their voices and adapted to the established voices of household names.

Most recently, I have merged these two paths to launch media consulting for PR firms and publicists as well as for brands, bars, breweries, distilleries, and other drink- / hospitality-related businesses; and I have also launched coaching for freelance writers. To learn more and book services, click here; to buy guides for each of these, click here. And to check out my newsletter and podcast supporting these services and diving into all things media, business, and trends in the drinks industry, head here.
My personal obsessions that often lend color to my writing are comedy, theater, music, history, travel, and plants. I'm story-driven, creative, and a stereotypical Virgo on all things efficiency and organization. Lastly, and most importantly, I have a pug named Darby.
